Here are 5 things I wanted to share with you this week.
📽 Multi-user Augmented Reality
Lightform is working on some headset-less augmented reality concepts that I think are really clever and remind me of Jared Ficklin’s E Room concept.
💡 No More Dark Closets
I’ve now got three of these battery-powered motion sensor lights in my house and I have a couple more places I might put them. They’re USB rechargeable and are held magnetically to a 3M adhesive set holder. No more having to remember to turn off the Harbor Freight hangable light in our downstairs closet anymore!
I have this thought sometimes making artificial intelligence neural nets in code might not happen as fast as making neural nets the way nature does it… with biology. Is it still artificial at that point? I’m not sure, but this guy’s experiment of trying to grow neurons that can connect to a computer makes me think the race is on.
⌚️ Make Time
Ryan got me good this week with this one.
🧑⚖️ Make a Rule
My rule is I don’t do hourly work.
Steve Kamb, the founder of NerdFitness.com, told me that the best and most polite excuse is just to say you have a rule. “I have a rule that I don’t decide on the phone.” “I have a rule that I don’t accept gifts.” “I have a rule that I don’t speak for free anymore.” “I have a rule that I am home for bath time with the kids every night.” People respect rules, and they accept that it’s not you rejecting the offer, request, demand, or opportunity, but the rule allows you no choice.

Love the "Rule" rule. I need to practice that more!
