Thanks for checking out my newsletter.
I hope to keep these short and interesting.

Watching
😅 - This video of people talking themselves into jumping off of a 10 meter high dive. I’m cheering them on to jump while fully knowing I’d be just as hesitant. Heard about this from this post by Polina Marinova. She watches it “Whenever I’m scared about trying something new.”
Theseus
After listening to a Founders Podcast episode about Claude Shannon I picked up his biography. One of his many amazing projects I learned about was this mechanical mouse that could solve a maze built circa 1950!
Read more about Shannon and this project on his Wikipedia page.
Listening
🎶 - Lose Your Love by Dirty Projectors - Indie pop with impressive harmonies and earworm worthy hooks. This band is constantly mixing it up. Putting different members in as lead singer and playing in different styles.
Concept
🎛 - Gall’s Law: A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked. A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work. You have to start over with a working simple system.

Underrated Purchase
📦 - I had seen these Canary corrugated cardboard cutters on Cool Tools and Recommendo for a couple of years and recently finally bought some. I got a three-pack and divided them between rooms we often open packages in. They’re not so sharp that I worry about them cutting me accidentally, but their serration is ultra-efficient at cutting through tape and cardboard to open and break down boxes. Looking forward to my son getting old enough to appreciate cardboard fort building because this will be my tool of choice.
